WELCOME TO

Front Royal Volunteer Fire & Rescue
One Mission, One Department

Our mission is to serve our community with dedication and unity, delivering the highest level of service and giving our best when others are facing their worst.

We are heartbroken to share that Retired Fire Chief Richard E. Mabie peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Chief Mabie dedicated over 25 years of service to Warren County, beginning his journey as the first Fire Chief of the Warren County Department of Fire and Rescue Services on August 7, 1995, and retiring on December 30, 2020. His leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication fostered a united department built on the principles of “One Department – One Mission,” always committed to serving our community during its most critical moments.

Chief Mabie's legacy of service, guidance, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Chief Mabie. Your contributions will never be forgotten.

Additional details and arrangements will be shared as received.
